In the last 20 years, we have seen huge changes to the way we print documents. The cartridges themselves changed from black to colour and then we saw toner and drum combined in one easy to change unit.
Although the price was high, it was more cost effective than regularly calling out an engineer to replace these short life components. Due to the high prices of laser toners we then started to see ‘drill and fill’ operations where you could have the cartridge refilled with toner at a fraction of the price of the new cartridge. But at what cost?
Today, these low quality operations are few and far between but do still exist. The majority of companies specialising in cartridges now re-manufacture them which means they are carefully stripped down, any essential parts are replaced (such as drum and doctor blade) before the newly charged toner is inserted and the cartridge sealed.
Here at Refresh Cartridges we have used our 12 years experience to source the very best range of competitively priced quality ink jet and toner cartridges which are cost effective for your business and home. All the manufacturers we’re associated with are ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 accredited and the majority of them are also STMC and Reach Compliant – This means they have been recognised internationally for their quality and environmental management within their organisation. Through these measures our manufacturers achieve a low failure rate and produce a product that gives comparable quality and performance to that of an original equipment manufacturers cartridge.
In July 2011 out of 26842 toner cartridges sold our primary manufacturer had just 521 returned as faulty; a failure rate of just 1.94%. In the same period the failure rate on Inkjet Cartridges (which have no moving parts and are inherently easier to produce) was just 0.54%.
