This product is a high capacity unit for use in a variety of HP printers. A high percentage of owners don’t even realise this cartridge is available as an alternative to the HP 300 Black that comes with new printers when replacing their first empty cartridge. Even though this cartridge contains more ink than the standard capacity one it is exactly the same size and compatible with all printers that take the HP 300 Colour. If you open up the cartridge (as demonstrated in the video below) you will notice the sponge fills the entire body of so you decide to get the cartridge refilled you can rest assured there is a good amount of ink in there.
This cartridge contains 11ml of ink in total meaning each chamber contains 3ml of cyan, magenta and yellow ink respectively.
How many pages will the HP 300XL Colour print?
You can expect to get approximately 440 pages from this cartridge if you are printing with an average page coverage of 5%. However in reality it is likely to be less than this as 5% is a pretty light coverage for an average user.

What are your thoughts on this cartridge?
If you are sticking to HP’s own cartridges this product is the most cost effective way of buying ink for your printer as this cartridge contains three times as much ink as the standard HP 300. You may have noticed in the video above that even with the full 12ml of ink the cartridge is still about half full so getting your empty cartridge refilled or looking into a remanufactured alternative could save you some money.
