When you look at an estimated page yield for an ink/toner cartridge it will be calculated at industry standard average page coverage of 5%. However many people have no idea what 5% coverage looks like and we are often asked by customers for an example. So here is a couple of examples with different fonts and spacing:
As you can see this coverage does not necessarily represent a typical print for an average user. So it is worth keeping in mind the page yield listed for your cartridge does not necessarily mean you will get that many pages from your purchase. To make life more complicated the same measurement is used for cyan, magenta, yellow cartridges. As printers mix these colours to create every colour under the sun, estimating page coverage can be incredibly difficult without a dedicated program like APFill. To illustrate this I have provided some more examples below along with a breakdown of their composition: 
Cyan: 34.93%
Magenta: 38.92%
Yellow: 41.45%
Cyan: 43.43%
Magenta: 48.86%
Yellow: 52.98%
