This product is the high capacity unit available for the current range of Canon two cartridge printers. A surprising amount of consumers do not realise this cartridge is available as an alternative to the PG-512 that shipped with the printer when it comes to replacing the empty one. While this cartridge contains more ink than the standard capacity cartridge it is physically the same size and is compatible with all printers that take the PG-512. If you open up the cartridge (as demonstrated in the video below) you will notice the sponges inside fill the entire body of the cartridge meaning if you decide to refill it you can get a decent amount of ink in there.
This cartridge contains 15ml of black ink.
How many pages will the PG-512 print?
You can expect to get approximately 401 pages from this cartridge if you are printing with an average page coverage of 5%. However in reality it is likely to be less than this as 5% is a pretty light coverage for an average user.

What are your thoughts on this cartridge?
If you are sticking to Canon’s own cartridges this product is the most cost effective way of buying ink for your printer. However the Canon original PG-512 only contains an extra 6ml of ink than it’s standard capacity counterpart. With this in mind I would recommend either getting your empty cartridge refilled or looking into a remanufactured alternative.
