This article is an unfortunate follow up to the one posted back in October with regards to HP Firmware updates.
At the time of writing (22nd of March 2016) HP have produced a 4th firmware update which has resulted in cartridges in the 934XL / 935XL and 950XL / 951XL ranges being rejected by printers, once again with the message to say that the cartridges are “Missing or Damaged”. The latest update to the firmware has resulted in an upgrade to version FDP1CN1547AR – if your printer has this revision, it will mean that third party cartridges are unlikely to be recognised correctly in your printer. A prior revision, such as the last update (FDP1CN1502AR) should still work without issue.
We have also been made aware that Epson have also released a recent firmware update for their most recently produced printers (ones that take 29 / 33 cartridges) – whilst we haven’t had any widespread reports of issues, there is certainly a possibility that this could occur subsequently.
As before, we would certainly recommend checking your printer properties or any Epson or HP software installed on your system to see if your printer has automatic updates turned on, it may be worth considering turning these off to prevent any future issues with cartridges being recognised.
We are due to receive revised firmware cartridges into us within the next 2 weeks, but in the meantime, if you do have any issues with any cartridges purchased from us, we are available from 8:45am to 5:45pm, by phone on 01803449339 or you can raise a ticket on our website at the following link https://refreshcartridges.co.uk/igloo/support/index.php?/Tickets/Submit
