Refilling the Lexmark 16 or 17 ink cartridges at home is very easy and can offer you great results, with very little equipment. All you need is one syringe, plus some universal . Simply remove the label, widen the fill holes, and fill the relevant chambers of the Lexmark 16 or 17 ink cartridge with the amount of ink mentioned below.
As these cartridges do not have any air holes to fill from directly, I would recommend carefully drilling your own with a thin drill bit.
For these cartridges, we recommend injecting the following amount of black ink:
Lexmark 16/010N0016E: 16ml
Lexmark 17/010NX217E: 8ml
We recommend sticking to the lower fill for the Lexmark 17 as these cartridges have a smaller sponge and are physically restricted inside the cartridge. As such, over filling them can result in ink spilling inside your printer.
