Brother laser toner printers that take the DR6000 drum unit need you to enter a prompt to let the machine know when the drum has been changed. If you have changed the drum but still have the “CHANGE DRUM SOON” message displayed on the LCD screen then it appears the incorrect prompt was given when it was changed. As a result the internal page counter will not have been reset.
To reset this counter please take the following steps:
-Open the front panel of the printer.
-Press the Clear button.
-Press the 1 button to reset the counter.
-Close the front cover, pressing firmly on each side until they click into place.
-Close the front panel again.
The counter should now be reset leaving you to continue printing. If however the “CHANGE DRUM SOON” message is still present please contact whoever the drum was purchased from for further support.
