Canon BJC-5100 Waste Ink Tank Counter Reset

The reset procedure below is valid for a variety of Canon printers including BJC-5100 printers. To see guides for other printers please read the full article here.
Important!

Before you start please note that the Resume button mentioned below will be represented by this symbol on most printers.
- Turn the printer off with the POWER button.
- Press and hold RESUME and then press POWER. Note: The LED should now be flashing
- While the LED is flashing press RESUME twice (this puts the printer into service mode).
- The LED will now be a steady green. Press RESUME four times (the LED should be GREEN again). Note: It is important you press RESUME exactly four time as more or less will cause the printer to perform a different function.
- Press POWER to finalise.

Please note that by following this procedure you are not emptying the tank/pad but simply resetting the counter that estimates how full it is. Please read our full article
