Refilling the Dell MK990, MK992, CH883, DH828, J5566 or M4640 black ink cartridge at home is very easy and can offer you great results, with very little equipment. All you need is one syringe, plus some universal . Simply remove the label, widen the fill holes (if necessary) and fill the relevant chambers of the Dell MK990, MK992, CH883, DH828, J5566 or M4640 ink cartridge with the amount of ink mentioned below.
For these Dell cartridges, we recommend injecting the following amount of black ink into the hole closest to the printhead:
MK990/592-10209: 20ml
MK992/592-10211: 20ml
DH828/592-10224: 20ml
CH883/592-10226: 20ml
J5566/592-10094: 20ml
M4640/592-10092: 20ml
The air holes of these units are very small, and you may have trouble getting the needle of the syringe to fit. If this is the case, I would recommend using the tool provided with many refill kits or a small drill bit to widen it.
