Product Description:
The TL-FC111B-20 is a media converter designed to facilitate data transmission between different types of connections, converting between electrical signals through its 100M RJ-45 port and optical signals through its 100M SC fiber port.
It is particularly useful for long-distance data transmission over optical fiber, making it suitable for commercial applications like park security monitoring and wireless networking.
The TL-FC111B-20 utilizes WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) technology, allowing data to be sent and received over a single fiber at distances of up to 20km (12.4 miles), resulting in significant cost savings for cable deployment.
For data transmission, the TL-FC111B-20 sends data at a wavelength of 1310nm and receives data at a wavelength of 1550nm on the optical fiber, while its counterpart, the TL-FC111A-20, performs the opposite operation, receiving data at 1310nm and sending data at 1550nm.
Additionally, this media converter offers several other features. It can function as a standalone device, eliminating the need for a rack. Alternatively, it can be used with TP-Link`s TL-FC1420 rack, allowing for auto MDI/MDI-X in the TX port, where duplex mode is automatically negotiated.
