- Not setting up on a Mac book
We cant get this to work , the person at the shop said it was suitable trying on a MacBook1 - Accepted AnswerThe Seagate Basic 2TB USB 3.0 Portable External Hard Drive is compatible with Mac computers, but it may need to be formatted before it can be used, depending on the MacBook and how it is intended to be used.
If the drive is not being recognised, please check that it appears in Disk Utility on the Mac, where it can be formatted for Mac use. Please note that formatting the drive will erase any data currently on it.
If you need the drive to work with both Mac and Windows computers, it is usually best to format it as exFAT.
