Fax Jet 525 ink
I am looking to order a PFA441 but looking at your site info it says they will do over 400 pages however typically I get less than 50 pages of normal text/faxes. I rarely use my fax machine. Does the ink go off if not used?
The 400 page yield figure is given based on printing a straight 400 pages of text at 5% page coverage. Unfortunately there are many factors that may diminish this estimated page count. Specifically in your instance you may find that your fax machine is doing regular printer head cleans in order to keep the ink flowing during periods of non-usage. This in itself will use up ink. Additionally, unless the faxes that you receive are purely double spaced text then you will find that you are printing a much higher coverage than 5% which in turn will diminish your potential page yield. You may also find that if left for extended periods that the ink may actually dry up in the print head. You should be able to clear this by doing a print head clean.
