Warhammer 40,000 is a tabletop battle game in which you take command of the forces of the Imperium or their deadly enemies. This set lets you fight out battles between the Space Marines and the Orks, with both sides represented by miniatures you assemble and paint yourself, fighting across evocative battlefield terrain. Everything you need to play is included, along with two full Combat Patrols, and easy-to-follow guides introduce you to the rules as you go.

The set includes a softcover Core Rules booklet, an 88-page, 160mm by 230mm book covering everything you need to play, from the basic rules and battle round to the battlefield and more advanced rules, complete with a handy reference section.

There's also a softcover Starter Set Handbook, an 88-page guide to getting started in the hobby, covering how to build, paint, and play with your new miniatures.

You'll find 2 double-sided reference sheets too, covering army rules, stratagems, enhancements, and datasheets for Combat Patrol games.

The set contains 46 multipart plastic push-fit miniatures, forming 2 complete Combat Patrol armies that go together without glue. Both forces mix infantry, leaders, and support, giving you a solid core to build on or grow into a larger collection.

The 13 Space Marines are elite, genetically enhanced soldiers equipped with the finest armour, weapons, and wargear the Imperium can offer, and they will stop at nothing to defend it. This force includes 1 Captain with Relic Shield, 1 Librarian, 5 Intercessors, 5 Vanguard Veterans with Jump Packs, and 1 Land Speeder. The Captain with Relic Shield, Librarian, Vanguard Veterans' Sergeant, and Land Speeder pilots all come with head options for a helmeted or bare-headed build, and the Land Speeder can swap its onslaught gatling cannon for a heavy flamer.

The 33 Orks are warlike aliens who live for a good scrap, drawn to Armageddon like moths to a flame and determined to claim it once and for all. This force includes 1 Warboss, 1 Weirdboy, 20 Ork Boyz, 10 Gretchin, and 1 Wartrakk. Many of the Ork Boyz and Gretchin feature interchangeable torsos for extra posing variety, every Ork Boy has a swappable head, and the Boss Nobs leading the mob can trade their kustom shootas for kombi-shootas or kombi-rockets.

You'll also get 15 multipart plastic push-fit terrain pieces, letting you build a striking battlefield that can be arranged however you like, giving you objectives to fight for and cover to advance behind. These assemble without glue and include 4 large Manufactorum Ruins, 4 small Manufactorum Ruins, 1 Shock Array, 1 Capacitor Stack, 2 Rockcrete Barricades, 1 Generator Shrine, and 2 Galvanic Pylons.

Rounding out the set are 2 foldout game boards printed with building foundations, measuring 762mm by 559mm when unfolded and made from 1.5mm thick cardboard, 2 transparent plastic range rulers marked in 12 inch increments, and 10 white six-sided dice with squared corners and black pips.

In total, the kit includes 535 plastic components alongside a full set of bases: 2 Citadel 105mm x 70mm oval hex-hole bases, 2 Citadel 50mm round hex-hole bases, 4 Citadel 40mm round hex-hole bases, 28 Citadel 32mm round hex-hole bases, and 10 Citadel 25mm round hex-hole bases.

These push-fit miniatures require assembly and are supplied unpainted.
