There are a number of reasons why your new toner cartridge could look different to your previous toner cartridge.

One of the most common confusions we encounter is that many Brother Laser Printers have their toner cartridge enclosed within a larger drum unit.  When the user removes the outer drum unit it is assumed that the entire unit needs to be replaced rather than just the smaller toner cartridge contained within.  This style of system is incredibly popular with monochrome laser printers so if you have one of these machine and the unit you have removed looks radically different to the unit we have supplied please do check you're just replacing the toner cartridge and not a conjoined toner cartridge and drum unit.

 

Often we supply a high capacity toner cartridge which may be physically different in size to the standard capacity cartridge supplied with the printer. We will usually recommend the higher capacity by default so if in doubt please refer back to our website, simply type in your printer model number and confirm that the cartridge code listed on our site matches up with the cartridge you have been given.

 

If your remanufactured cartridge looks very slightly different physically to the Brother original then it may be that certain parts of the cartridge have been replaced in the remanufacturing process thereby making it look slightly different to the original unit.  Sometimes small lugs on the cartridge which restrict the range of printers it can be used in are physically removed to increase the range of printers than a remanufactured replacement can work with.

 

If the cartridge has a completely different code or is radically different (and none of the above are a possibility) then it is possible we have supplied the incorrect item so please contact us to arrange a replacement.
