Problem with a Brother Toner Cartridge or Drum Unit
My Drum Unit continues to read as 'empty' even though I have only just installed it
A large number of Brother printers require you to reset the drum page count on the printer itself whenever you install a new drum unit. This is true regardless of whether you have purchased an original or remanufactured product.
The process is usually simple but does vary depending on your specific machine. The reset process should be printed in your user manual or if you don’t have the manual to hand we have covered a large number of machines on our blog at http://igloo.refreshcartridges.co.uk/
An example of a popular reset method is shown below:
-Open the front panel of the printer.
-Press the “Options” button on the printer.
-The message “REPLACE DRUM – 1.YES 2.NO” should now be displayed
-Select yes by pressing 1 to reset the counter.
-Close the front panel again.
