Problem with a Brother Inkjet Cartridge

The printer warns of ‘low ink’ or 'empty' from the very first use.

This can only really happen with older Brother inkjet cartridges which have been produced without chips. As these Brother inkjet cartridges are completely unchipped the printer relies on physically looking inside the ink cartridge in order to establish whether the cartridge it full or empty.  As a result, if you can see that the cartridge is visibly full then it is more likely that the sensor hasn't detected that a new cartridge has been installed and hence may still be returning the former ink level.

In this instance please take the following steps:

-Remove the cartridge from the printer
-Turn the printer off from the machine itself
-Turn the printer back on
-Re-install the cartridge again slowly

Please repeat this process several times if the cartridge still doesn't read as being full.

If the machine still reports that the cartridge is low / empty then the problem could be down to a manufacturing defect; in this instance please send the cartridge back to the address below with a brief covering note so that we can locate your details and send a replacement:

Please contact us before returning any products for refund or replacement so we can provide a prepaid return label.  If you are in urgent need of a replacement, please feel free to purchase a replacement off our website and we will immediately reimburse you when the faulty unit is returned.

If the machine refuses to accept the replacement is full of ink then please contact us before returning a second unit so that we can troubleshoot the printer itself.
